Reyna's Origin Story

Born in the prime age of Disney Princesses (and villains if we are being honest) and fated to dwell in nostalgia, it isn’t surprising that I live and breathe happily every afters. I was always the kid getting in trouble for reading past my bed time and known for letting my imagination getting the best of me. In an attempt to be practical, I entered into a program specializing in finance in high school and went on to major in hospitality my freshman year of college. Not really a surprise given the fact that I grew up in Las Vegas and both of my parents were in the industry. That didn't last long though. In fact, it didn't even last one semester. I took a few years off to live life and when I went back to school I decided to major in English at the University of Nevada Las Vegas because I wanted to go for something that fulfilled me. One thing led to another and I found myself going for my MFA in Writing at the University of San Francisco. Fun fact, Sunday Morning Usual was my graduate thesis! I've been working in finance for my day jobs. Honestly, I love it. I love balancing and problem solving with numbers. It is one of the reasons I am also launching a bookkeeping business in addition to writing and editing.

I am still working on finding the balance between adulting in this economy while also following my dreams. Nourishing my soul by surrounding myself with engaging stories and writing cozy happy endings certainly helps!

When I am not taking way too many pictures of my dogs, Thyra Winifred and Eloise Nightingale, or adventuring around the PNW with a tiny stuffed octopus named Oswald, I am probably drinking tea, reading or writing, and watching the 1999 cinematic masterpiece The Mummy.

Thanks for being here!
